Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality as well as a former teacher of the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spiky blond locks and pumped up personality, provides simple techniques that anyone can master. Chef Burrell also has worked in the top New York establishments, studied Italian food and its traditions, and took part in Food Network Iron Chef America. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for culinary arts and cooking from very young. After earning an English and Communication degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she became interested in the world of food and restaurant management by enrolled in The Culinary Institute of America. I was awed by every minute of being a student at The Culinary Institute of America she states. I could not learn and do enough. Chef Burrell following her graduation from the Culinary Institute for Foreigners in Italy completed a one-year stint in Umbria at La Taverna del Lupo and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, the Michelin-starred restaurant. It was during this time that her experience in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian style of living and the culture and it has had an impression on her eating habits. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that assists kids with disabilities. In her capacity as a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her culinary passion and career. Anne often has mentioned during her time in the culinary field she's extremely fortunate being able to be able to share what's really important for her.
